{catching up} our 1700+ mile trip!

we {not so} recently took a little tour of the midwest and we had a great time! mason's family was having a family reunion in iowa and my youngest brother is living not too far from there in lawrence, kansas so we decided to make a little tour of it. we basically made a big loop going there through nebraska and home through kansas. and while staying with my brother, we got to go visit a lot of church history sites too that are not too far from him. we went to independence, missouri, liberty jail, and far west, missouri. i had been there before but it'd been a while and mason never had so we were grateful to be able and make those stops. thanks to a borrowed dvd player, everybody did great!

mason's family reunion was a lot of fun and it was great to meet so many of his family. most of them live in the east and midwest so we won't get to see them very often but i thought they were all so nice. we didn't take very many pictures at all, unfortunately, but here are some of my favorites.

one of the days we were in iowa we drove around the surrounding areas and towns looking at the old houses where mason's great grandparents had lived and the town where his dad was born. we also stopped at the old church that everyone used to go to and the cemetery were alot of his family is buried. it was such a cool cemetery. i don't think i've ever used those words together before but i felt that way about this one. it was very neat to be there. anyway... it was also very hot so mason caught keeley and anders playing under a big tree and got some really cute pics. keeley and anders are good buddies!
