it's all working out... :)

things have been crazy for us the past few weeks but we're rested up again and ready for the second act.  it's all happened very quickly yet things have gone pretty smooth considering.  i know that's not our doing but being blessed in our efforts.  we are grateful for that! 

here's what's been going on...

tuesday, august 31st - mason and i went to vernal for the day.  we did a session that morning in the temple and then met some new friends at their home for lunch.  that's a story in and of it's self and i need to write that soon before i forget all the details.  we met their son-in-law who works in management at Halliburton who did somewhat of an interview right there at lunch!  he asked mason to come in that afternoon for a formal interview.  mason did and that evening, he was offered a position working for them in the warehouse.  he accepted of course and that was that...  we were moving to vernal!  they said they wanted him to start working as soon as possible as they were short staffed and needed him immediately!

wednesday, sept 1st - mason and i woke up at 3:30 a.m. and couldn't go back to sleep because we were trying to figure out and sort through all the details.  we couldn't figure out whether to go back to vernal and find housing there or go back home and get the house there ready to put on the market.  after a call to our friend and real estate agent, we decided that we should go back home and wrap everything up there first.  i went back to bed for a two hour nap before heading back to wellington.

thursday, sept 2nd - kind-of a waste of a day really.  we had so much to do but couldn't figure out what order to do things in... we were working hard but basically getting no where! :)  our real estate agent came over that morning and we finalized getting the house on the market.  mason and i had a feeling earlier that it might happen so we'd already visited with him but this time we got down to the nitty gritty.  he encouraged us to get it on the market ASAP so we could get it sold before winter hit.  we said we needed a week...


friday, sept 3rd - monday, sept 6th - we finally had some direction, we had a huge to-do list, and mason's folks were coming into town for the weekend so we had some help.  things were moving along pretty well.  we spent labor day weekend working... all weekend long we packed, cleaned, painted, shoveled, sweeped, etc.  we had a lot of help for which we are truely grateful.  we were so blessed because there was so much to do in such a short amount of time but we had tons of help from our family and our ward family.  mason and i look back and marvel at what we were able to accomplish that weekend and it was all because of the wonderful help that we received from others.

tuesday, sept 7th - more packing and cleaning!!  mason and i at least had some fun that day too as we went shopping for staging materials for the house.  we'd been so poor the whole time we lived there that we never ended up spending much money on housewares and decor type stuff.  so we had a TON of fun shopping for them!  we went to ross and tjmaxx and walmart, of course we had to be as frugal as we could about it, but they are cheap places to get good stuff. 

wednesday, sept 8th - this was the stage and stuff day.  staging took much longer than we anticipated so we were under the wire to get the whole place staged for pictures that afternoon.  we weren't totally packed yet so we ended up stuffing stuff in cupboards and closets for the pics.

thursday, sept 9th - we hurried to try and pack all that we had stuffed the day before.  my mom and dad came with a trailer to take the majority of our stuff over in that direction.  the shortest day we'd had in a week... we finally quit working by about 6 pm

friday, sept 10th - we spent the morning with mason's grandma in loveland.  after dropping the boys off with mason's parents, we headed back up to wellington to grab the last bit of stuff in the house and finish some last minute projects.  we said goodbye and at about 2:30 p.m. that afternoon, off we went!  we drove both cars to craig and dropped one off and then headed over to vernal!

as we were driving over to vernal, we got a call from our real estate agent who said that he'd already shown the house and that they would be making an offer at 8:30 that night!  when we finally got settled, we set up the computer so we could look at the offer.  we were pleased with it so we signed it and sent it back.  we were hoping that it would go fast but that far exceeded our hopes!  we're scheduled to close on november 1st so hopefully things will continue going smoothly.  

friday - tuesday, sept 14th - we spent the weekend in vernal, just mason and i.  it was wonderful!!  i thought we would get all rested up then and be ready to go but we were so keyed up from being so busy for so long, it was hard to relax and unwind.  we still had a great time being togther though! 

so we've spent the rest of the time resting and trying to figure out our next moves.  mason starts at halliburton on monday, sept 27th.  my mom and i are going to vernal tomorrow to look at rentals.  we want to buy over there but we'll wait until our other house closes and then start looking more seriously.  we've looked a bit and from what we can tell, we'll have a lot of options so we're happy about that.

sorry no pics...  we've taken quite a few (and i have a bunch more to share from our travels in august) but at this moment, we have no idea where our camera card downloader thingy is.  hopefully we'll find it soon!
