i read in a children's activity book to have a stuffed animal safari with your toddlers/preschoolers. andrew loves it!! mason and i take turns "hiding" his stuffed animals, we turn off all the lights, and then andrew walks around with a flashlight (and mason and i not far behind) looking for and finding all his beloved friends. he's getting pretty good actually so we're having to actually hide them rather than just placing them some place to be found in the dark.
i know he's really enjoying it (although we don't do it often enough) because the other morning, as i was getting him out of bed, he said, "light flash?!"
it took me a minute to realize that he was asking for the flashlight...
"light flash? find the aminals!!"

ooh, we are totally going to have to do that... the girls got some nurf guns from my cousins and they have a "laser" scope, the love to turn off the lights and look/walk around in the dark.
