so much has happened in the past few days...

saturday afternoon, a team of neurological doctors came into our room at Primary Children's Medical Center in salt lake city, utah to tell us that connor has tuberous sclerosis.  he'd been having infantile spasms and following an MRI, they knew that he had tuberous sclerosis because of tubers that they found in his brain.  there are two small tubers in his right eye but no tubers in his heart or kidneys.

it's come as a shock for sure but we feel comforted because of the excellent care that he has received and also because of our knowledge of the gospel of Jesus Christ.  things won't be quite as we imagined for our little family but they will be just as good - just different. 

we won't know the severity of the situation until later, it's just a waiting game.  right now he's a little developmentally delayed - he's not sitting up yet - but we'll start going to an early intervention program when we get back home and they will be able to help him gain as many skills as possible. 

we'll be back and forth to salt lake quite a bit in the next little while and then at least once a year after that for follow up examinations and testing.  i guess it's a good thing we're moving to vernal!!

thank you for your thoughts and prayers for Connor and for our family.  we have felt them.  this weekend has been a wonderful experience for me, even though it's been difficult and rocky at times.  at some point i'll share some of the happenings that were meaningful to me... but i'm not quite ready to yet.  :)
