blizzard!

springtime wrecks havoc on the already surprising colorado weather. just days after being nearly 70 degrees, we got hit with a blizzard. it was a mild blizzard, i will admit, but it was a blizzard nonetheless. at the new house, we got about a foot of snow. and to add to the craziness of it all, most of the snow was gone 48 hours later.


so the day before we were set to get the truck and make our move official, it started snowing and blowing. we had a lot planned for that day - buy sheets, take up a couple loads of awkwardly shaped stuff that won't go in the truck well, clean new place, clean old place, unpack a few boxes because we were running short, finish packing all the random stuff at the old place, etc. not too much of that got done.

we ended up skipping the stores and heading to the new house to try and unpack and organize what we could. and there we were for the night. wondering how bad the storm would end up. it was fun! it just would have been more fun with furniture. and maybe a tv to watch movies on.

the next morning dawned bright and clear, as if nothing had happened the day before. i have to admit i was a little bummed. i dream of huge blizzards that leave us stranded at home for a few days. but i guess the weather gods knew we needed to move so they cut the blizzard short a day or two.

we had no problem getting the truck, just a little later than anticipated since the place opened late due to the weather. the truck handled the snowpacked roads well (which weren't snowpacked anymore on our return trip). and i got to break in our new snow shovel! how's that for memories.
