andrew took his first independent steps yesterday!!! mason and i have been playing with him trying to get him to stand up on his own. so i was encouraging him to stand up yesterday and he stepped forward a little bit while standing. it wasn't a huge step by any means, more like a microstep. but it was still so exciting!
and then, later on that day, i was talking to my mom on the phone and i watched as andrew let go of his walk behind toy and stepped towards the tree (he always goes for the tree when i'm on the phone because he knows he's not supposed to touch it). i couldn't believe what i saw! i just stood there for a second hardly believing it.
when mason got home, i wanted to show him andrew's microsteps so i stood andrew up and let go of him. mason held out his hands and andrew took three microsteps towards him!! it was so exciting to see him to that! granted they were tiny steps and he hasn't figured out to bend his knees yet so he looks pretty funny but it's so cute at the same time. :)
hopefully soon i'll be able to get a video of it to show everyone. granted, i tried to get him to do it again this morning and he wouldn't but hopefully he'll do it again soon.

Happay (belated) birthday Andrew! They grow up so fast. Isn't it great watching them discover everything that they can do!?
I remember having the same feeling when Nathanael took his first steps. I was stunned. I couldn't even talk (which is big for me!) It was hard to explain how it had all played out to Michael when he got home. :)
These days, of course, the milestones are along the lines of moving chairs to reach higher and higher "off limits" things and opening doors and talking! :) It goes so quickly, but it's fun at every step.
Oh, I guess I should "announce" that we are expecting #2 in July. Sadly, we won't be at the reunion. But we will get a baby, so it evens out! :)
