i can sit up!!!

for awhile, anders was really shaky with sitting up. he could sit up but after a short time he'd just fall over. in fact, he didn't really even seem that interested in sitting up, he always wanted to stand up instead. part of me thought he'd be walking before he sat up just because he showed so little interest in it. well, i think he's finally converted! he thinks he is such a big boy now that he can do it and balance himself so he doesn't fall over. he'll get this huge grin on his face when you set him down to sit up as if he's saying, 'i can do it!'. it's so cute.




anders is so curious. it's his nature; he gets it from his daddy! it's so fun just to watch him as he looks and feels and learns. he found one of mason's shoes this morning and he thought that was pretty cool. maybe all we need to get him for christmas are some shoestrings. he seemed plenty occupied with them this morning! :)

this is the look he gets on his face when he's 'exploring' - i love it. i love his curiosity and enthusiasm for the little things in life. of course he doesn't know they're so little ...
i love this little guy so much! what did i ever do without him?!

anders is doing so many new and cute (and wonderful, i think) things right now. every day, it seems, he's doing something that he wasn't doing the day before. he's rolling and pushing and bouncing and arching and kicking and grabbing and laughing and just having a great time doing it all. he used to get bored after a while, playing by himself, and he'd want you to entertain him. but now that he's more mobile, he plays for long stretches of time by himself. in fact, sometimes i have to jump in and say, 'remember me?'. :) he's always looking for play buddies so he's more than willing for me to play along. thank goodness!

he's VERY active. in fact, he's all over the place and he hasn't started crawling yet! the other day, i set him down by his play arch thingy and i went about doing something. well, a little while later he started fussing a bit so i went to get him by the play arch thingy. he wasn't there! he was over halfway across the room!

this is a little thing he's doing right now. we're trying to get it on video but he won't do it in front of the video camera. he pushes up with his back legs, arches his back and hops! the poor kid won't let any of the hair grow on the back of his head! he was doing it in front of the young women on sunday and one of the girls said, 'look, he's break dancing!' i hope we can get it on video. i want to remember this!
